Pax Londinium PDF
over 4 years ago – Thu, Mar 19, 2020 at 02:47:22 AM

Hello everyone!

As you've probably seen, I've sent the Pax Londinium PDF to backers at the appropriate levels and pre-order customers. If you should have received it, and haven't please let me know. The next step is getting print copies, which I'm now working on.

As for other supplements, Jason is hard at work now on the art for Becky Annison's book, Werewolves of Britain. There will be more case notes coming - one from me, and some from Neil Gow set in London. When those are done, I'll be looking at compiling the notes into a book, to be released in PDF and print. Both will use the same pre-order process as Pax Londinium when the time is nearer.

Meanwhile, I know these are troubling times, but I hope everyone is staying as safe and healthy as can reasonably be expected, and that such things as Pax Londinium bring you some cheer.

Pax Londinium - nearly done, and pre-orders closing
over 4 years ago – Tue, Mar 03, 2020 at 04:20:22 PM

Just a quick note to say that the art for Pax Londinium is nearly done, and there's just a few things to sort out involving an index and stray page XX references. I hope to release the pre-production PDF soon.

The  physical book will now be in hardback for the same price.

Because it's nearly there, I'll be closing pre-orders (see the previous update) this evening.

Pax Londinium: Here soon
almost 5 years ago – Mon, Feb 10, 2020 at 03:34:32 PM

The PDF of Pax Londinium is almost ready. Just a few pieces of art and a last minute tweak of the text (there are always last minute tweaks of the text) to go before I'm ready to get the PDF to you.

So I've put together a Backerkit page to allow anyone who wants to pre-order a copy at a discount:

https://liminal-rpg.backerkit.com/hosted_preorders

Those who backed at PDF Changeling (£20) and higher levels already get the PDF for free. For those who backed at Changeling (£25) level and above, there's an option available for print at a bigger discount, though you'll need to log into Backerkit to see.

I know I had promised print on demand at cost for backers at the Changeling level and above, and I still plan to honour that. But the copies coming from the print run will be better quality, and with the backer discount will be approximately the same price, so offering them like this seems the fairest thing to do.

I hope to give you more news soon!

The Dragon of Temple Bar
almost 5 years ago – Fri, Jan 24, 2020 at 02:22:34 AM

Pax Londinium, the long-awaited supplement for Liminal written by Neil Gow, is almost finished. It has been a while since posting here so I wanted to share the latest illustration completed. Here is the painting for Chapter 7: Encounters in London, which offers several interesting and unique experiences a Liminal may have while wondering through the byzantine streets of London.

Only a couple more chapter paintings to go as well as a couple interior pieces to accompany text and fill in some white space. We are very, very close now to the finish line.

I absolutely loved the write-up for the Temple Bar Dragon which inspires this painting, so I figured I'd share an excerpt with you here. Hopefully this provides context into the image that introduces this chapter:

The Dragon of Temple Bar

The Temple Inns of Court at the meeting of Fleet Street and the Strand are home to dozens of legal firms in a labyrinth of buildings and cloistered gardens and the world-famous Temple Church. A long time has passed since the Templars used this part of London as their sanctuary and now the expectation that their legacy will live on here is rife, and false. There’s hiding in plain sight but that would be ridiculous. The real treasure of the Temple lies outside, at the monument that replaced the old Temple Bar gate to the city — and it is a dragon called Griffin.

On top of the Temple Bar monument, Griffin stands watch over this ancient entrance to the City of London, watching for interlopers. For mundane visitors, they merely see a statue, but for Liminal visitors, Griffin is very much alive and quite talkative. He will state the nature of their visit to the City, what business they have daring to enter his realm and may even challenge them to a riddle or a fight! However, he is all bluster and eventually lets people enter with a warning not to transgress on his turf.

So why does anyone care about Griffin? Well, he does have one more warning for those that don’t pay him the due respect. “Britain is built on the backs of two dragons; one white and one red. I call them mother and father; tread carefully lest I call my sisters…”

Time for an update
about 5 years ago – Fri, Nov 22, 2019 at 01:03:28 AM

Hi everyone,

Sorry for the long radio silence. Time for a progress report on the various supplements:

  • Pax Londinium is nearly ready.
  • I'm hoping to give you another Case Note in a few days. That's even more "nearly ready" than Pax Londinium. And I can see the next few Case Notes coming quite rapidly.
  • Faeries and Folklore, Werewolves of Britain, and Novocastria are completely written.

And to what your appetite, here's a couple of Pax Londinium pages.

One thing I'm working on is an option for backers at the appropriate levels a way to buy the offset print run of Pax Londinium (and other later supplements) at cost rather than buying print on demand at cost, should anyone so choose.
